Features:
- Ultra-high transmittance across the target broadband infrared spectrum
- Exceptional scratch resistance and mechanical strength (Mohs hardness 9)
- High thermal conductivity and excellent thermal shock resistance
- Superior chemical inertness and long-term environmental durability
- Precision double-sided BBAR coating with low surface reflectance
This optical window is made of high-purity single-crystal sapphire (Al₂O₃) with precision double-sided BBAR coatings, optimized for 1.65–3 μm and 2–5 μm infrared bands.
With a refractive index of 1.75 in the IR band, uncoated sapphire causes notable Fresnel reflection loss at each surface. Our double-sided BBAR coatings effectively suppress reflection and boost transmittance:
- 1.65–3 μm BBAR coating: Per-surface reflectance is kept below 4% across the full working band (typically <2% over the central range), ensuring average transmittance >95% with peak values approaching 100%.
- 2–5 μm BBAR coating: Per-surface reflectance remains below 2% (typically ~1%) throughout the operating spectrum, delivering average transmittance >95% and near-theoretical transmittance at peak wavelengths.
The coatings feature reliable adhesion and environmental stability, suitable for long-term use in harsh industrial and aerospace environments.
